A Case of Tuberculous Otitis Media with Intact Ear Drum
Kim Jung-Hyun

Kim Hyung-Jong
Abstract
Classically tuberculous otitis media is usually presented with early perforation, or multiple perforations of the tympanic membrane, and painless aural discharge. Recently, changes in clinical symptom & signs cause a considerable delay in making correct diagnosis, which may lead to irreversible complications. Recently, we experienced a case of tuberculous otitis media with intact ear drum and no history of chronic otorrhea in which the diagnosis of tuberculosis was established by histopathologic examination. Here, we report a case of tuberculous otitis media with intact ear drum, emphasizing that tuberculosis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of chronic middle ear disease with intact ear drum.
